1965 Schwinn Paramount P-14 Track Bike

An implausible restoration with period correct parts, this Schwinn Paramount P-14 Track Bike is amongst the finest examples in existence. This pristine beauty is the epitome of 1960’s American frame manufacturing mixed with the finest European components. This Paramount is not only a showpiece; I rides amazingly and has been ridden until recently on nice days at the Trexlertown Velodrome.

Serial # Y29 places the frame’s manufacture date sometime between July 30 and September 28, 1965. Reynolds 531 round tapered fork blades, stays, and double butted frame tubing. Camganolo Pista fork tips and track ends. Nervex Professional lugs. 120 mm rear spacing. Brake bridge and fork crown are factory drilled for brakes (never mounted!). 21 1/2″ frame measures 55 cm center-top seat tube and 56 cm center-center top tube. 74º/74º parallel angles.

History and Condition

In 2006 Davidson Bicycles re-chromed and painted the frame in the original Schwinn orange color with correct decals including the “Paramount Reynolds” decal. Original headbadge.
